My journey to serving birthing families began during my teenage years, when my mother chose to have my younger brothers at home with a midwife. During her labor I was awestruck by her appearance, the sounds coming from her, the very energy of the birthing room. And then, I saw my brother’s head being born…..I was hooked! I had just seen one of the most magical and spiritual happenings in this life. I wanted to cradle my mom and sweet baby brother in their new little cocoon. Although it would be several years before I could put a name to that light, I believe the flame of service to mamas was lit at that very moment. With time, that flame has grown stronger and pushed me to pursue multiple avenues of being with woman.
It is an honor to be invited into a family for such an intimate event, to bear witness to a baby coming earthside, a mama finding her strength, digging deeper than she ever knew she could. This honor is one that I do not take lightly, it comes with a fierce love and deep devotion to the families I serve. This I do with a grateful, humble and joyful spirit.
I am a passionate advocate of many different things in this life, but my main calling is assisting women and families during the childbearing year. I feel that all families deserve the right to bring their children into this world in their own way, and I seek to help them realize this goal through information, education, and support. Each family has different needs and wants that affect how, when, and where a mother will give birth. My role is to provide help in a way that encourages both mother and family to make the best decisions for them. For more information on my services, check out the overview of services, email me, or call me at 573-202-5386.
**Please note** I am currently on maternity leave and NOT attending births. I AM accepting clients for all other services!

I am a Doula, newly moved to the area. Are you accepting co-workers?

Hi Sarah,
You’re in Rolla? That is AWESOME! We only have two practicing doulas (including myself) here, and two more each about thirty miles in a different direction. This area is sooo under-served. I’m actually not doing much work right now as I have a client in Dec/Jan, a client in Jan/Feb and then am due myself in March/April. I hope to be back in full swing in about a year, as far as births go, and doing postpartum work when I can. We should get together and chat about what you’re looking for. When I originally started this, I intended to have multiple doulas under one roof, so I am definitely interested in the idea of working with someone else.
Looking forward to getting to know you,
Summer

Hi Summer,
I’m a licensed Clinical Psychologist (Health Psych specialty interest) just a bit south of Rolla in Lenox. My daughter had two home midwife assisted births with a wonderful Doula helping
in Houston, TX (years ago, now). I was there for both and always wanted a chance to get involved in some way with a Doula. Can we talk sometime?

Yes, thank you. I got it soon after I found you nearly a month ago. I’ve been busy and am heading for awhile to work in Florida. I’ll be back and forth for a few months, but I’ll check in with you when things get settled again. Thrilled that you are here!

Hello, I live in Waynesville. I am 24 weeks pregnant with my first child and looking for a doula in the area. I understand that you are currently on Maternity leave, but do you know of any doulas that practice near my vicinity. I looked online however almost all of the doulas online only service areas near the big cities. You were the only one I found close enough. Please if you have any suggestions or recommendations please let me know. Thank you!
